The Hayward TriStar VS is among the most energy-efficient pool pumps on the market according to EPA ENERGY STAR third-party testing. Built for medium to large pools, it can cut energy costs by as much as 90 percent, or up to roughly 1,500 dollars a year, compared to a single-speed pump. A permanent-magnet, totally enclosed fan-cooled motor delivers that efficiency with excellent reliability and runs noticeably quieter than a single-speed pump. The fully programmable touch-pad control rotates to four positions or mounts on the wall for easier access, and the pump works independently, with Hayward automation, or with competitive automation systems through relay control. An extra-large basket makes leaf and debris removal easy and stretches the time between cleanings.
