The Hayward AquaTrol RJ-TL is a salt chlorine generator designed for above-ground pools up to 18,000 gallons. It generates pure chlorine from the salt water passing through the cell, so you are still sanitizing with chlorine but in a gentler form that leaves the water soft and silky and easy on eyes and skin. This RJ version mounts the cell vertically just below your existing return jet using a right-angle mounting adapter; the lower end connects with 2-inch rigid PVC or 1-1/2 to 1-1/4 inch flexible hose. The control box features a clear digital salt display and seven diagnostic indicators (Power, Generating, Super Chlorinate, No Flow, Test Salt Level, High Salt, and Inspect Cell), plus a 24-hour timer that manages filter pump run time in 15-minute segments. It runs on 120V/15A and ships with the twist-lock line cord. The cell self-cleans by periodically reversing polarity, and everything needed to install is included: control box, salt cell, union connections, and return-jet adapters. No separate flow sensor is required on this model.
