The Hayward Perflex extended-cycle DE filter delivers crystal-clear water at an economical price, and this 40 square foot model is the largest in the Perflex line. It uses diatomaceous earth, the most effective filter media available, to remove even the smallest particles on the first pass. Its patented Flex-Tube design reuses the DE and dirt mixture to continuously form fresh cleaning surfaces, giving extended filter cycles with no backwashing required. An exclusive bump handle activates the Flex-Tubes so they instantly purge themselves of dirt and powder, and a combination diffuser and lower mixing chamber produces a uniform DE coating on the tubes. The system is also designed to expel any trapped air back through the filtered water returning to the pool, and an easy-access clamp assembly makes service simple.
